Gabriella Canez

Currently a Marketing Associate with San Francisco Department of th Environment, Gabriella holds a Paralegal Diploma from Esquire College and a bachelor's degree in International Relations in Sustainable Development from San Francisco State University. She spent years working in nonprofit organizations, including the Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law, Braille Institute, Environment California and volunteered at the International Development Exchange. She also worked at Kleiwerks, a nonprofit international organization, promoting sustainable living around the world. Gabriella’s passion for the natural environment and preoccupation for its degradation inspired her to write a short eco-story for children called "Merluza and I." Her story was published in Expectations, an anthology publication in Braille, which was distributed to visually impaired children worldwide. Her environmental values were rooted early in her life. However, she became a strong advocate for nature while traveling around the world. She had the opportunity to travel to Africa, Latin America and Asia. "I'm a world trekker. Traveling has enabled me to understand the clear existing interconnection of the world.” Gabriella has focused on the issue of waste reduction and recycling. “My higher purpose as a change agent is to integrate recycling programs in developing countries. Thus, I strongly believe the Green MBA program will provide me with sufficient knowledge and tools to implement my vision. I am thrilled to be part of the Green MBA community!"

What people are saying about the GreenMBA

"From my experience in the government, nonprofit, and corporate worlds, the Green MBA program is the best I've seen for preparing people with the practical skills to confront and overcome the multidimensional challenges involved with transforming business and achieving sustainability. This is evidenced already in the work of their graduates."
